Irvin W. Campbell

Irvin Wayne Campbell, 84, of Mooresville, passed away on August 10, 2023, at Life’s Journey Hospice in Avon. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on March 9, 1939, to the late Pole and Ezella (Williams) Campbell. Irvin attended M.C. Napier High School in Kentucky before enlisting in the United States Army from 1956 to 1960. He spent most of his enlistment in Alaska where he specialized in transportation and helped construct the Alaskan Highway. Irvin married Lorene Johnson on February 20, 1963, and she survives. He spent 32 years working for Ford Motor Company as a job setter before retiring. After retirement, Irvin attended barber school. He cut hair at the Village Barber Shop in Mooresville for 17 years and would also travel to nursing homes and residences to help cut hair for those who were immobile.
Irvin loved listening to country music. In his free time, Irvin enjoyed being outdoors. He liked to fish, hunt, and tend to his two-acre garden. Irvin and Lorene opened a woodworking business called “The Knot Hole” where they built cabinetry. Irvin was a very generous, hard-working, family man with a great sense of humor!
In addition to his parents, Irvin is preceded in death by his grandchildren, Abigail and Maizie Kurtz; brothers, Estil, Amos, and Henry Campbell; and sister, Joyce Tiffany.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lorene Campbell; son, Greg (Dana) Campbell; daughter, Jami (Charlie) Kurtz; brothers, Jimmy, Edgar, and Arlie Campbell; grandchildren, Christopher Campbell, Makenzie (John) Sego, Christen Campbell, Sydney Kurtz, Rainer Kurtz; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Sego; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Irvin’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 11 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The service will begin at 1:00 P.M. and burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irvin’s honor to Life’s Journey Hospice, 10241 E County Road 100 N, Indianapolis, Indiana 46234. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

I know that there are lots of hugs happening in Heaven💜 Papaw, Mamaw, Amos, Estil, Henry, and Mom, aka, Joyce, have All ushered Irvin into a Beautiful Place with no more sorrow. Uncle Irvin always had the biggest smile on his face, whenever I saw him. Mom told me that Everyone loved to be around Irvin when they were young. Mom’s nickname for him was, Irb💕Irvin’s Grandmother, Poppy, got to name him and their oldest brother, Jimmy. Papaw, aka, Pole, got to name his third son that was born, Henry. My Love goes to Aunt Lorene, Greg, Jami, and All of their Precious Families

I’m so sorry I just found this out Irvin cut my hair Meny Meny Meny he was a man among men he will be missed
I miss my Dad more everyday. I am so thankful for his love. I can’t believe it has been over a year since he passed into heaven. I am grateful he always encouraged me to go to church and worship the Lord. I will hug his neck again.
