James D. Connor, II

August 2, 1967 ~ February 23, 2024
James David "Jimmy" Connor, II
56 of Avon, passed away on February 23, 2024. Jimmy was born on August 2, 1967 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Jeannie (Cox) Connor and James D. Connor, I, who survives.
A proud “Region Rat”, Jimmy grew up in Northwest Indiana, graduating from Lake Central High School. After high school, Jimmy moved to Avon, and worked as a machinist for Rolls Royce for almost 30 years. Jimmy loved his family and friends and loved gatherings. He enjoyed music, and would sing his signature song, “Mustang Sally” whenever he would be invited up to sing by local bands as a dedication to his sister, Sally. He also enjoyed riding his Harley, working on his Corvette, collecting tools, going to comedy shows, watching TV, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and listening to podcasts. He will be remembered as a great stepdad, who was a fun-loving guy, with a kind heart, who loved everyone and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Debby (Richardson) Connor; his father James D. Connor, I; his sister Sally Connor; stepsons Colin Chenoweth, Taylor Chenoweth; his nieces Rhiannon Carlson, Lacey Ludovice, Madeleine Aviles; great niece Eliza Ludovice; cousins Terry Nemeth, Sharon Nemeth, Karen Nemeth; his beloved dogs, Ruby Tuesday and Floyd as well as a host of friends who will all miss him.
A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date. In keeping with Jimmy’s love of animals, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made in Jimmy’s memory to the Hendricks Humane Society, 3033 E Main St, Danville, IN 46122, https://www.hendrickshumane.org/

Jimmy was always kind and funny. He treated me as a good friend. He was funny. I have a picture of him at Halloween, too funny. Miss you my friend.😢😢
From all of us at jw.org, we send our sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one.
I will never forget meeting Jimmy at Kahler and having classes with him all through high school. He was always smiling and would make a point to say hello Jenny – he was the only person I ever let call me Jenny and I don’t know why – maybe it was that smile.
Rest in Peace my friend
Jimmy was my best friend at Kahler.
I also grew up in Dyer.
I haven’t talked to him for years, but I remember him always happy.
I’m so sad he went before me.
