Stacy LaDawn Powell 37, of Camby, passed away on February 27, 2024. Stacy was born on March 21, 1986 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robin Powell and Debbie (Gamblin) Duke.
Stacy was a graduate of Mooresville High School and graduated cum laude from Ivy Tech College, where she earned an associate degree in Criminal Law. She was a member of Souls Harbor Church in Plainfield, Narcotics Anonymous for over 10 years. She worked as a tech specialist for several Optometry offices and was also an essential oils representative for Young Living. She was known as the vacation planner of the family, often picking her favorite destination and activity of being on the beach, and sunbathing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her son and nieces. She will be remembered for her love of accessorizing with jewelry, her caring, loving personality, who could be very blunt, but always smiling. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Jalen Josiah Lee Hancock; mother Debbie Duke and her husband, Ken; her father Robin Powell and his wife Stacey; brothers Brandon Powell and his wife Jaeda, Brayden Powell; nieces Braylie Powell, Bella Powell; grandparents Alvin and Sissy Gamblin, Kathy Schweitzer, and Sue Carpenter, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Stacy’s life on Sunday, March 3rd from 2pm-4pm at Souls Harbor Church, 8434 IN-267, Plainfield, IN 46168, with funeral services beginning at 4pm Sunday in the church, officiated by Pastor Barry Curtis. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made in Stacy’s memory to two places that were close to her heart, Souls Harbor Youth Group, 8434 IN-267, Plainfield, IN 46168 or to Narcotics Anonymous, https://na.org/

Stacy was a sweet caring lady. So sorry her life was cut short at such a young age.
Stacy loved to organize everything, she asked to clean my spice cabinet and I end up only having salt, pepper and cinnamon. Lol, had to buy all new! Sure do miss her, but I know she’s in a better place. 🙏🫶
