Lyle Pernell Shrout

May 28, 1962 ~ May 3, 2024
Lyle Pernell Shrout, 61, of Indianapolis, passed unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 3, 2024. Pernell, as most knew him, was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky on May 28, 1962 to Dainty Rose (Pieratt) Shrout Hedger and the late Cecil Clark Shrout.
Pernell graduated from Montgomery County High School in Kentucky with the class of 1980. Soon after graduation, he moved to Indiana. He graduated from Professional Careers Institute in Indianapolis as a Software Programmer. He worked in this field until retiring from Full Beauty Brands in 2022.
He was a collector of trains, stamps, and coins. Never wanting to stop learning, he was extremely intelligent and knew a significant amount about nearly everything. He was truly a jack of all trades. With curiosity, he enjoyed examining aged structures and objects, often trying to figure out how they were constructed and functioned. He was a smart guy, but he also valued a good belly laugh. With a unique sense of humor, he thought of himself as humorous, but some were not smart enough to understand his humor. He was also a beer connoisseur. A true family man committed to hard work, one of his greatest joys was being a dad and providing for his family.
He will be missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends including his mother, Dainty Hedger of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; daughters, Elizabeth (husband, Daniel) Smith of Martinsville and Kristen Shrout of Martinsville; son, Jeremy “Levi” Shrout of Indianapolis; brothers, Cecil (wife, Kathy) Shrout of Preston, Kentucky and Clay (wife, Tena) Shrout of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Faith, Ayden, Cheyanne, Danni, and Hank.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Shrout.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial Life Celebration® visitation on Tuesday, May 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. His earthly remains have been cremated and will later be laid to rest in Howards Mill, Kentucky.

We grew up together and were the best of friends 🧡 he will surely be missed, I remember a big bike wreck we had coming down Anderson hill on Howard’s Mill road, he went sliding on his butt and me on my face, but we just got up and shook it off, we shared many adventures, he was a great friend….love and prayers for the family…God bless!

I will never stop missing you. You’ve always been there especially when it mattered the most and you came to my rescue more than once. I still need my Daddy. I love you so much and I know you knew that and I know how much you loved us. In all the life before me I hope I still make you proud everyday. Your opinion mattered so much to me and you always knew what I needed to hear in that moment. Losing you is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I love you Daddy.
Just found out about Pernell’s passing. I’m sorry for your loss. He was a good man. I worked with Pernell at FullBeauty Brands for over 25 years. I enjoyed his passion for the work, his “I’m going to figure this out” attitude, his humor (loved it!) and being a friend.
Pernell will be greatly missed……..
I’m just finding out about this. I worked with Pernell for years at Brylane (FullBeauty Brands). He was great to work with. We had a lot of brainstorming sessions together. He also had an incredibly dry wit which, for me, made his humor even funnier. I am glad I got to know him. RIP old friend.
I just heard of Pernell’s passing today. My condolences to his family on your loss. I worked with Pernell at FullBeauty Brands for 25 years. We started on the same day 06-10-1996. He was a great guy to work with, and chat and laugh with, over the years.
