James “Jim” Arthur Pflum

James Arthur Pflum, 93, of Mooresville, passed from this life on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at The Springs of Mooresville.  He was born in Tell City, Indiana on September 9, 1931 to the late Frank Malcom Pflum and Dorothy Lu Etta (Poehlein) Pflum.

Jim, as most knew him, graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1949. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.  He was proud to have served himself and even more proud of his three grandsons who chose to serve in the Air Force.  He was the Diesel Technology Professor at Vincennes University, retiring in 1997.  Additionally, he was a dedicated Freemason.

On January 26, 1957, Jim married the love of his life, Patricia Glenn “Pat” Pflum.  Together they created a family and have enjoyed over 68 years of marriage.  In his spare time, Jim greatly enjoyed golfing.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his friends and family including his wife, Pat Pflum of Mooresville; daughters, Joyce Pflum (husband, Jeff Brunk) of Mooresville and Suzanne (husband, Craig) Hallgarth of Mooresville; sisters, Carol Onyett of Greenwood, Sandra Delong of Speedway, and Donna Sanders of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Stephen (wife, Manda) Ware of Indianapolis, Sarah (husband, Clark) Kinney of Martinsville, Alec (wife, Kara) Hallgarth of Mooresville, Andrew Seber of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Luke (wife, Kelsey) Seber of Muncie; and great grandchildren, Taylor Wampner, Makenzie Ware, and Josiah Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dorothy Pflum; son, Randall Ray Pflum; and brother, Frank Edward Pflum.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 20th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.  Jim’s Life Celebration® Service will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest with military honors in White Lick Cemetery following the service.
