Patrick A. Cordray, 68, of Mooresville, passed away on February 24, 2025, at Franciscan Health Mooresville. Patrick was born on October 28, 1956, to the late Nick and Patsy (Newlin) Cordray, and lived a fulfilling life as a dedicated, hard-working, reliable, and intelligent individual. His contributions to his family and work will forever be remembered.
Patrick received his high school diploma from Mooresville High School in 1975. He further pursued an associate’s degree in computer-integrated manufacturing engineering from Purdue University. This qualification helped him carve a successful career and left an indelible impression on anyone who crossed paths with him. He worked for Federal Mogul in Mooresville for over 20 years and retired from Rolls-Royce after 20 years as an engineer.
Patrick met and married the love of his life, Vanessa Jane (Cross) Cordray in November of 2013.
Apart from his professional accomplishments, Patrick relished recreational activities such as fishing, fiddling with his guitar, digging for fossils, geodes, and arrowheads, and gardening. These hobbies painted a picture of a man who savored the smaller joys of life.
Patrick will be deeply missed by his son, Ryan Cordray; step-son, Billy Walker; step-daughter Aulisha Humphries (Mike); grandchildren, Natalie Cordray, Zane Cordray, and Brooklyn Cordray; step-grandchildren, Kayla Daniels (Rowdy), Auliyah Davis, Zariyah Walker, Ziva Humphries; and a step-great-grandson, Mason Daniels.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Vanessa Jane Cordray, and his parents Nick and Patsy Cordray.
Family was of utmost importance to Patrick and he always put their needs before his. His loss will leave a void in our hearts that cannot be filled.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Mooresville Cemetery.

Such a great friendly guy always willing to help if I didn’t know something about a machine at work!
