William Donald “Don” Clark

William Donald Clark, 88, of Mooresville, was set free from the struggles of failing health on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville.  Don, as most knew him, was born in Lee County, Virginia on July 7, 1936 to John Hopkins Clark and Dora (Burgan) Clark.

Don served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.  Shortly after his honorable discharge he met Lorene Fay Middleton.  After a brief courtship, the two united in marriage on September 21, 1960.  Don and Mrs. Lorene Clark enjoyed over 64 years of marriage before his passing.  Don and Lorene are members of the Graceway Church in Mooresville

In the mid 60’s, he served the Plainfield community as a police officer.  He then worked for Marsh for 36 years as a meat cutter.  Don enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR.  One of his favorite hobbies and activities was gambling at the casino and scratch-off tickets.

Don will be missed by his family and friends including his beloved wife, Lorene Clark of Mooresville; sons, Donnie Clark of Mooresville and Scott Clark of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter, Laura (husband, Ralph) Rafferty of Brazil; brothers, Jim Clark and Paul Clark; grandchildren, Brandon (wife, Kelsey) Rafferty, Corbin Rafferty, Sierra (husband, Ryan) Miller, and Jessica (husband, Tim) Roller; and 10 adored great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora Clark; brothers, Charles Clark and John Clark; and sister, Irma Pence.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, March 18th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.  Don’s Life Celebration® Service will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest with military honors in White Lick Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.  Contributions may be made online at https://t2t.org/ or using the envelopes provided during the service.
