Joyce Ann Brummett Yoder

Joyce Ann Brummett Yoder, 86, of Martinsville, went onto her heavenly home on Thursday, March 14, 2025 at the IU Health Morgan Hospital in Martinsville.  She was born in Indianapolis on September 15, 1938 to the late Jesse Medford Harris and Julia Elizabeth (Curl) Harris.

Joyce married George Wesley Brummett on January 4, 1955.  He preceded her in death on July 3, 1996.  Finding a second life companion, she married Ray Yoder on February 14, 1999, and he passed away on February 9, 2011.  She was a proud, loving, and dedicated homemaker.  A devout Christian, she greatly enjoyed studying and reading her bible. She also enjoyed cooking.

She will be forever missed by her family including her sons, Robert A. Brummett of Martinsville and George “Bo” (wife, Jacquie Bolin) Brummett of Indianapolis; daughters, Cindy Brummett of Martinsville, Catherine L. Brummett of Anderson, Teri L. (husband, Mark) Hendricks of Spencer, and Beth (husband, John) Whitt of Worthington; sisters, Julia Gibson, Beverly Barnes, and Margaret Henson; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jesse and Julia Harris; brothers, Richard Harris, Jesse Harris, Bobby Harris, Charles Harris, Danny Harris, Dallas Harris, and Michael Harris; and sisters, Maxine George, Norma Elliot, and Linda Butler.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, March 20th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.  Joyce’s Life Celebration® Service will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hall following the service.
