Betty Lou Stratton, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 15, 2025, at Life’s Journey Hospice in Avon. She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on March 8, 1934, to the late Boyd and Ilena Saylor.
Betty graduated high school and earned her associate degree from the University of Cincinnati. She was a fundraiser for several organizations, such as the United Way, International Service Agencies, Care, Hope, and Planned Parenthood.
Betty was a longtime member of Camby Community Church.
She will be missed by her family including her children; Robin N. Roland, of Cincinnati, John K. Roland, of Indianapolis, and Karen L. Roland of Greensburg, KY; brother, Edgar Saylor of Hammersville, OH; sister, Gloria Daulton of Cincinnati; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Retired Navy Captain Dene B. Stratton, whom she married in 1979; and son, Thomas H. Roland.
Betty’s earthly remains will be cremated and there are no services at this time. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville is handling her arrangements.
