Candace Faye Wildrick

April 12, 1956 ~ April 18, 2025

Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Indianapolis, Indiana

In loving memory of Candace “Candy” Faye Wildrick, age 69, of Indianapolis, passed away in the early morning hours of April 18, 2025, at home surrounded by family. She was born in Indianapolis on April 12, 1956, to the late Charles Riley Sanders and Virginia Lee (Hale) Sanders.

She attended Scecina Catholic High School and later married Robert “Bob” L.  Wildrick, II “Pappy” in January of 1973. Together they raised Jennifer (Thomas) Northrip of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Robert “Bobby” L. (Candace) Wildrick, III of Camby, Indiana. They welcomed 2 spouses, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Bob and Candy were married for 43 years before Bob passed away in April of 2016.

Candy was a talented artist and enjoyed creating pieces such as personalized greeting cards and pictures for family and friends. She even created a prototype for an interactive children’s book in her early days. Her art was her hobby, and she even passed up a scholarship to Art Instruction, Inc., because her family was her priority first and foremost.

Candy and Bob lived mostly in Indiana and a short time in Florida, where they managed a KOA campground. They later moved to Bunnell, Florida, where Bob worked as a wastewater treatment operator for the city and Candy opened and managed a successful thrift store. She enjoyed working in her community and helping others. Candy and Bob moved back to Indiana to be closer to family and friends after several years.

Candy was thoughtful, warm, quick-witted, and humorous. She could make you laugh without even trying. All her nieces, nephews, and Jenny and Bobby’s friends wanted to be around her whenever they could because she would let them be free and express themselves. She loved her animals dearly, and her dogs meant the world to her.

Candy, aka “Grammie,” is survived by her four grandchildren, Madison (Isaiah), Bailey (Lauren), Megan (Tyler), Caleigh, and 4 great-grandchildren, Riley, Oakley, Hadley, and Remington. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the most important thing to her, bringing her so much joy. She centered her life around spending time with and caring for them. Candy is also survived by her loving sister Pam Harmon, nephew Todd (Barb) Harmon, and niece Niki (Brad) Snyder.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Bob, Candy is preceded in death by her brother, Doug Sanders, and brother-in-law, Doug Harmon.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville is handling her arrangements.
