Franklin Lee Province

Franklin Lee Province, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 18, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Mooresville. He was born in Washington, Missouri on June 16, 1955, to the late Cecil and Mary (Wolf) Province.

Franklin was a cabinet maker and installer with Sims Cabinet Company for several years. Most recently, he worked as a security guard for Protection Plus.

Franklin was a longtime member of The Well Community Church in Brownsburg. As a dedicated and loyal family man, his best times were spent with family. He especially loved traveling to Illinois to visit his sisters. Franklin was a car enthusiast with a 1955 Bel Air taking the top spot on his favorites list. He enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns and crime shows, and had a love for mallard ducks and cats. Though he was quick-witted and a jokester, Franklin’s heart was big.

In addition to his parents, Franklin is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Province; sister, Linda Province; brothers-in-law, Terry Hickam, Larry Coleman, and Doug Spiegel; and sister-in-law, Janet Province.

Franklin is survived by his wife, Janet (Petree) Province, whom he married on November 28, 2018; son, Elmer Province; daughters, Jessie Brown (Eric) and Bobbie Province; grandchildren, Sean Brown, Aubrey Brown, Codey Malcolm, and Katelynn Province; great-grandchildren, Freyja and Lil’ Eric; sisters, Katherine Hickam and Lola Coleman; life-long friends, Philip Bramlett and Jon Pittman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. His funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Following the service, Franklin’s earthly remains will be cremated, and he will later be buried next to his family in Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois.
