Leah Carolyn Bolin

Leah Carolyn Bolin, 90, of Martinsville, passed unexpectedly on Friday, May 9, 2025 at her home at the Grand Valley Assisted Living Community in Martinsville.  She was born in Mitchell on January 5, 1935 to the late Virgil Bocock and Leona (Freed) Bocock.

She graduated from Mooresville High School with the class of 1953.  Leah had worked for Harmon-Becker in Martinsville as a line worker.  A follower of Jesus, she was a Methodist and greatly enjoyed time spent studying her Bible.  She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and crafts.  No matter what she was doing, Leah strived for perfection!  She was truly an amazing mother, grandmother, and more.  To say she adored her family would be an understatement!

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends including her son, Wesley Dean (wife, Marcia “Mouse”) Bolin of Martinsville; daughters, Cynthia Burkhart of Martinsville and Nyla Jo (husband, Richard) Reynolds of Martinsville; brother, Ray Bocock of Naples, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Leona Bocock; husband, Wesley Bolin; and siblings, Carl Bocock, Mary Mundy, Gladys Pridemore, Gerald Bocock, Kathleen Hunsucker, Thelma Bocock, Tommy Bocock, Robert Bocock, Ruby Bocock, and Dorothy Bocock.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 16^th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.  Leah’s Life Celebration® Service will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 17^th at the funeral home with an hour of visiting prior.  She will be laid to rest in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville following the service.
