
Robert Jackman
81, of Mooresville passed away on June 10, 2025, at Plainfield Health and Rehabilitation. Robert was born on January 23, 1944, in Anderson, Indiana.
Robert worked for General Motors for many years, retiring in 1989. An avid outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed hunting and collecting guns. Additionally, he was a talented master woodworker making many bookcases, storm window frames, a horse drawn buggy and step stools for the grandchildren, just to name a few. However, his greatest joy was traveling with his wife Sue, especially taking the scenic routes enjoying the wide-open country roads! He will be fondly remembered as the “Grumpy Ol’ Fart”.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Sue Jackman, greatgrandchild Christian Bennett as well as two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by sons James Brenner (husband Dean Mascher), Karl Bennett (wife Kelly); daughters, Mindy Groover (husband Rus) Pam Roth, Kelly Kelly; grandchildren, Kaleb, Venessa, Nikki, Heather, Brigette, Kaleb, Philip, Brooke, Cody, Luke, Brock, Beau, Alex Hannah, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather in celebration of Robert’s life Wednesday, June 18th from 6-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.
