Rosemary J. "Rosie" Oakley

Rosemary J. Oakley, 76, Indianapolis, passed away June 14, 2025.  Rosie was born September 21, 1948, in Indianapolis, to the late Raymond and Beatrice (Cotton) Webb.

She graduated from Emmerich Manuel High School in 1966 and furthered her education with a degree in Horticulture from Purdue University.  Rosie worked for Bud & Bloom Florist, in the floral department at Marsh Supermarkets, and eventually retired from Fertilizer Dealer Supply in Botkins, Ohio.  A natural green thumb, she enjoyed all kinds of flowers.  She was a member of New Life Baptist Church, and while living in Ohio, she was a member of Wapakoneta Baptist Church.  Rosie loved to travel and never turned down an opportunity for a new adventure.  At one time in her earlier years, she was an honorary member of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  Rosie was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandmother who will be missed by her loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ramona Peavler and a grandson, Brian Gaffney.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Lynn J. Oakley; daughter, Lorie (James) Gaffney; bonus son, Gabe (Shaunte); brother, Chuck (Jackie) Williams; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
