Betty Jane Byrne, 88, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.  She was born in Russell Springs, Kentucky on July 26, 1937 to the late Leslie James Withers and Carmen Simmons.

She was an accountant at The Saturday Evening Post where she retired many years ago.  Betty loved reading romance novels, working crosswords puzzles, watching western shows, and especially enjoyed watching the hummingbirds outside her front windows.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Lovins.

She is survived by her husband, John “Jack” Byrne of Mooresville; her children, Penney (husband, Randy) Bohanon of Plainfield and Gary (wife, Terri) Johnson of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Randa (husband, Josh) Spencer of Plainfield, Kelli (husband, Adam) Redman of Plainfield, Michael (wife, Kim) Johnson, Lori (husband, Chris) Dodd of Shawnee, OK, and Jeff Johnson of Shawnee, OK; great grandchildren, Jake Spencer of Plainfield, Andrew Redman of Plainfield, Alli Redman of Plainfield, Asher Redman of Plainfield, Cammeron Cleary of Shawnee, OK, Colton Johnson of Shawnee; OK, and Liam Dodd of Shawnee, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, September 20th from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.   Betty’s Life Celebration® Service will follow beginning at 3:00 at the funeral home.  She will be cremated following the service and her remains will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery on Monday, September 22nd following a private committal service.
