Ellen E. Beecher, 84, of Plainfield, passed away on November 11, 2025, at Franciscan Health Mooresville. She was born in Indianapolis on February 6, 1941, to the late George Littlehale and Agatha (Chapman) Richardson. Ellen graduated from Plainfield High School.

Ellen married Jimmie Beecher on February 17, 1995, and he survives.

She was employed with the Federal Government for 20 years as a survey statistician. Ellen had a passion for Indiana history. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Society of the Indiana Pioneers, the Hendricks County Art League, and the Bethel Historical Society.  Ellen loved searching for rocks, fossils, and minerals all over the country, but especially in Brown County, Terre Haute, and Waldron. Her collection was notable for its extraordinary range and distinctive pieces.

In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her brother, William Littlehale.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Jimmie Beecher; daughters, Elise Townsend, Alison Canfield (Douglas), and Melissa Edwards (Robert); and grandchildren, Matthew Ashcraft, Warren Townsend, Morgan Townsend, Kinzie Townsend, Makayla Canfield, Madeliene Canfield, Megan Canfield, and Robert Edwards.

In honoring Ellen’s wishes, her earthly remains will be cremated, and there will be no services. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville has been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
