David Joseph McPhee
82, of Mooresville passed away on January 14, 2026 at home, surrounded by his family. David was born on April 30, 1943 in Davenport, Iowa to the late Arnold and Ann McPhee.
As a child, David’s family moved to Mooresville, where he graduated from Mooresville High School and met the love of his life Sandra Davis. They married and raised three daughters. David worked as a material handling sales representative for many years, before retiring. He was an avid IU Fan, golfer, and enjoyed singing in Barbershop Quartets. He was a faithful member of the Mt. Gilead Church as well as a lifetime member of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), originally known as the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA). However, it was his family that brought him the most joy. He loved being involved and attending all his daughters and grandchildren’s musical and sporting events. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as a loyal friend, who had a great smile and would help anyone in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jerry McPhee.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra (Davis) McPhee; daughters Michele (Ken) McCue, Tracy (John) Heyob, Jennifer (Mark) VanHooser; sister Melody McPhee; grandchildren Max, Jack, Mike, Joey, Dominick, Jacob and Katie, who will all miss him dearly.
Family and friends will gather in celebration of David’s life privately.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made in David’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Paradigm Hospice for their outstanding care, dedication, and support.
