Deborah Kae Thomas

Deborah Kae Thomas, 72, of Mooresville, passed in the comfort of her home on Monday, May 4, 2026. Debbie, as most knew her, was born in South Bend on July 29, 1953 to the late Jack Carl Harrell and Juanita Ruth (McKnight) Harrell.

She graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis. Debbie married Patrick Lloyd Thomas on October 1, 1995; He preceded her in death on April 18, 2023. She owned and operated DK Maintenance in Indianapolis specializing in maintenance and janitorial services. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she was a member of The Springhill Christian Center in Mooresville.

She was a selfless mother, grandmother, and more who poured her heart into every interaction, always putting her kids and grandkids first. Debbie’s home was a sanctuary filled with laughter and warmth, where her cats roamed freely, a reflection of her affectionate spirit. She embraced the simple pleasures of life with a heart full of gratitude and an infectious smile that lit up the room. Those who knew her will remember her for her kindness, compassion, and the unwavering love she showered upon her family.

She will be deeply missed by many including her sons, Jeremy (wife, Marissa) Johnson of Mooresville and Tim (wife, Jamie) Johnson of Clayton; daughters, Jannett Riley of Whiteland and Ruth Thomas of Martinsville; sister, Jackie Fillin (husband, Ora Crawford) of Mooresville; brother, Daniel (wife, Sissy) Harrell of Plainfield; grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Karsyn Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Allison Johnson, Logan Walker, Landen Walker, Matthew Hicks, Aleigha Embry, Britton Dunn, and London Dunn; and 3 great grandchildren.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jaunita Harrell; husband, Patrick Thomas; brothers, Jack Harrell and William Harrell; sisters, Diane Burrows and Juanita Harrell; grandchild, Hendrix Dunn; and great grandchild, Paisleigh Daupert.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 8th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Springhill Christian Center, 12150 N Rooker Rd, Mooresville. Debbie’s Life Celebration Service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery in Camby.
