Mary Kathleen Normand, 93, passed peacefully at the Meadow Lakes of Mooresville on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Katie, as most lovingly knew her, was born on October 5, 1932, in Rockport, Indiana, and is one of eleven children born to the late Lloyd Earl Wilkinson and Anna Grace (Beasley) Wilkinson. Katie spent her life nurturing those around her and embracing her deep faith in God.
Katie was a loving homemaker who created a warm and welcoming home for her family, living for many years on a church campground, Gospel of the Kingdom in Shepherdsville, KY, where her spirit of kindness flourished. She found immense joy in being a mother and loved every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Katie’s love knew no bounds, as she devoted herself to caring for others and was known for her thoughtful gestures and nurturing heart.
With a passion for sewing and cooking, Katie lovingly shared her creations with everyone around her, weaving warmth and care into every stitch and every meal. Her home was a welcoming gathering place, always filled with laughter, love, and the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals. She found joy in making aprons for those she loved, a reflection of her generous heart and creative spirit. Through her kindness, talents, and the memories she created around her table, Katie touched the lives of all who entered her home and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Katie’s quiet strength and unwavering faith left a profound impact on everyone who had the pleasure to know her. A follower of Jesus, she believed wholeheartedly in the amazing love of Christ and did her best to spread that love.
She will be missed by many including her daughters, Rebecca (husband, Jim) Gibbs of Martinsville and Pamela Davis of Clayton; sons, Paul (wife, Linda) Davis of Spencer and Steven (wife, Millie) Davis of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
