Born in: Cleveland, Ohio
Resided in: Mooresville, Indiana

Ingrid L. Rinker, 83, of Mooresville, left this earthly life on Friday, July 3, 2026. She was a beloved sister, dedicated medical technologist, passionate volunteer, and fervent animal lover. She was born on November 10, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Lars Einar Lindstrom and Evelyn Dorothea (Huge) Lindstrom. Ingrid lived a life rich in love, service, and devotion to the Lord.

A longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in South Euclid, Ohio, Ingrid served as a liturgist, counter and member of the church choir. She served on the board for the Cleveland Lutheran High School Association. In her later years, she attended Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mooresville, Indiana, where she continued to live out her deep faith.

Ingrid graduated from Lutheran High School East and Cleveland State University. She had a long career in medical technology with Hillcrest Hospital, now part of Cleveland Clinic.

Ingrid’s passion for animals was evident throughout her life. She logged nearly 10,000 volunteer hours at the Cleveland Zoo, where she served as a docent, led guided golf cart tours, and worked hands-on with animals ranging from kangaroos to hissing cockroaches. Owing to her professional expertise, Ingrid was also able to volunteer in the zoo’s research lab for many years.

In addition to her volunteer work at the zoo, Ingrid displayed a remarkable sense of altruism. She regularly donated blood and plasma, and she was recognized by the American Red Cross for being a multi-gallon donor.

Ingrid was an avid bowler throughout her life and an equally passionate pinochle player. She was active in the VASA Order of America, embracing her Swedish heritage and adding her musical talent to the VASA Voices.

Ingrid is survived by her loving family including her brother, Nils (wife, Maggie) Lindstrom of San Diego, CA; sister, Signe (husband, Philip) Nicholson of Mooresville; nieces, Marina, Elisabeth, and Linnea; and nephew, Karsten. Her cherished cats, Lindy and Romiaow, have been adopted by her niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lars and Evelyn Lindstrom and son, Thomas Rinker.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 6845 E Old SR 144, Mooresville, at 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Ingrid’s earthly remains have been cremated and will be laid to rest at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in South Euclid, Ohio.

  1. A bright and wonderful person whose spirit lives on. Ingrid was always helpful and supportive of my mom, Alberta Barnes. Our prayers go out to comfort Signe and Nils. Ingrid and I share the same great grandfather, Frederick Prasse of South Euclid, Ohio, along with many other cousins who have enjoyed wonderful lives in the Prasse heritage.

  2. I remember when she was coming to church in the winter, she would hold my hands to warm her own. She was such a wonderful woman.
