Harold Wayne Lloyd, 81, of Mooresville passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Harold was born on October 29, 1944, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late William Lloyd and Annetta (Groh) Lloyd. Harold was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Harold graduated from Decatur Central High School. He married the love of his life, Jane M. Harman, on January 30, 1966. Their nearly 59 years of love and partnership were a testament to their deep bond, which endured even when Jane passed away on January 5, 2025.

Harold was employed by Marathon Oil where he worked as a transport driver until his retirement in 1975. In addition to his work, Harold was a lifelong sports enthusiast, proudly recognized as a member of the Decatur Football Hall of Fame. For over fifty years, he contributed his time and enthusiasm to the sport as part of the “chain gang,” showcasing his unwavering support for local athletics.

A man of many passions, Harold was an avid collector of classic hot-rod cars, owning a stunning ’54 Suburban Station Wagon, a ’30 Chevy, and a ’49 Chevy Pick Up, all of which he maintained with meticulous care. His love for these beautiful machines brought him much joy, and he often shared tales of their adventures. Known affectionately as the “Mayor of Gravity Hill,” he left a rememberable mark on his community and brought a smile to many faces.

Harold was also a cherished member of the West Newton United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending his winters in sunny Florida, which allowed him to embrace the warmth of both the sun and his family.

He will missed by many including his children, Donnie (wife, Andrea) Lloyd of Martinsville, Dawn (husband, Charles) Williams of Indianapolis, and Christina “Tina” (husband, Tommy) Cummings of Camby; brother, William Lloyd; sister, Carol Ellington; brother-in-law, Wayne (wife, Kathy) Harman; cousin, Tina Galey; grandchildren, Justin (wife, Breyana) Wilde, Tyler Wilde, Kevin (wife, Katelyn) Lloyd, Kyle (wife, Lexi) Lloyd, Dylan Johnson, Raegan Corrin, Coen Cummings, and Carson Cummings; and great grandchildren, Mia Lloyd, Dawson Lloyd, Leon Corrin – Swanson, and Halo Corrin – Swanson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annetta Lloyd; wife, Jane Lloyd; sister-in-law, Alice Lloyd; and brother-in-law, Michael Ellington.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, July 22nd from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Harold’s Life Celebration® Service will follow beginning at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Following the service his casket will be placed in the bed of his 1949 Chevy pick-up and taken to White Lick Cemetery where he will be laid to rest alongside his late wife, Jane.

  1. To my Brother’s Harold (Bubby / Bub). Not a thing was missing from your life in the memories. I your sister Carol will miss you beyond explaining. Taught be to ride a bike, put my swing set with Larry Franklin, learned how to make jiffy popcorn on the stove. I could go on and on. A great friend, Christian raised your family well. Now you are well, no arthritis, all the other health issues gone forever. Once the Lord returns we will see you. I love you bro enjoy. Carol Ellington
