Jeff L. “Fluffy” Byrnes

Jeff L. “Fluffy” Byrnes, 68, of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2026, following a golfing trip in Kentucky.

Jeff was born on December 20, 1957, in Indianapolis, to Leroy and Charlotte (Holland) Byrnes. He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1977. On June 22, 1979, he married the love of his life, Linda Davis. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their five sons, who were the pride and joy of his life.

Jeff was a member of First Baptist Church in Mooresville. He was a hardworking, dependable man who took great pride in providing for and caring for his family. He never missed a day of work and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Jeff was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. His honesty, loyalty, generosity, and loving nature touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jeff had many things he enjoyed in life. He loved spending time on the golf course with his buddies, and a golfing trip was always something to look forward to. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to IU and the Indianapolis Colts. He also had a passion for classic cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, enjoying the beauty, character, and freedom that came with both. Jeff loved being outdoors and took great pride in his yard. Whether he was mowing his own lawn, working in the yard, or helping others by mowing theirs, Jeff was happiest when he was busy and helping someone else.

Above all, Jeff was a devoted husband, father, and family man. His five sons were his greatest source of pride, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. He also cherished his beloved dog, Diesel, who was an important part of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Byrnes; sons, Derek (Marissa) Byrnes, Ross Byrnes, Joshua (Courtney) Byrnes, Seth Byrnes, and Cody Byrnes; father, Leroy Byrnes; grandchildren, Griffin, Rhys, Wilson, Ollie, Jordyn, Lyla, McKenna, Kaysen, and Irelynd; great-grandson, Elyas; and sister, Rhonda (Bill) Chabra.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Byrnes; and brother, Paul Byrnes.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Danny Thomas officiating. Jeff’s earthly remains will be cremated following the service.

Though his passing was unexpected, Jeff leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and the example of a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and was always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed.
