Jerry “J” Tucker

December 1, 1970 ~ September 9, 2026

Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Greenwood, Indiana

Jerry “J” Tucker, Jr., 55, of Greenwood, passed away at his home on September 9, 2026.

J was born in Indianapolis on December 1, 1970, to Jerry and Leslie (Irons) Tucker, Sr. He was a 1989 graduate of Mooresville High School and worked in waste management for Bestway.

J found joy in the simple things in life, especially those that brought people together. He loved to cook and could often be found at the grill, with BBQ ribs being one of his favorites. He enjoyed horseback riding, a hobby that held a special place in his heart because he shared it with his dad. The two were horseback riding partners and made many memories together.

J also loved spending time out on the water fishing, playing his guitar, and being in the company of his dogs. A passionate sports fan, he faithfully cheered on IU basketball, the Cincinnati Reds, and both the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys.

Those who knew J will remember him for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He was a jokester, loving, and fun to be around.

Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Leslie Tucker, Sr.; children, Ashley Mercer (TJ), Jayson Tucker (Tonya), TJ Tucker (Melanie), Nathaniel Tucker, and Morgan Tucker; sister, Margie Karr (Dana); granddaughter, Ellie; companion, Myrna Hardwick; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

J was preceded in death by his wife, Christal (Passmore) Tucker.
