Julie Denise Emmons, 68, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville.
Julie was born on July 2, 1958, in Indianapolis, to the late James and Sara (Roberts) Lappin. She attended Perry Meridian Schools and later earned her associate degree in medical assisting. After working in the medical field for several years, Julie decided to pursue a new career path.
She went on to spend more than 20 years with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she worked as a project manager. Julie took great pride in her work and in the many people she met throughout her career.
Outside of work, Julie had many passions and interests that brought her joy. She loved slot machines, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, lighthouses, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She also loved to travel, especially anywhere she could be near the water. Salt Lake City held a particularly special place in her heart.
Of all the things Julie loved, nothing compared to her love for her family. She adored them deeply and treasured the time they shared together. Her family was the center of her world, and the love she gave them will remain a lasting part of their lives.
Survivors include her children, LeAnn Chapman (husband, Spencer Bechtel); son, Dean Emmons (wife, Heather); sisters, Linda Clark and Janet Price; grandchildren, Taylor Savage, Stephen Downing, Whitney Williams, Dylan Jackson, and Alexia Walker; great-grandchildren, Stevie Downing and Kollyns Walls; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her son-in-law, SPC Stephen Downing ll; and grandson-in-law, Zachariah Savage.
In honoring Julie’s wishes, her earthly remains will be cremated and there will be no services. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville is entrusted with Julie’s cremation arrangements.

I have so many good memories of Julie. We worked a lot of years together!! I loved her contagious laugh. She was always great fun to travel with; business or pleasure One of my best memories was our trip to Kings Island. We had a blast!! She was the best tour guide in Vegas.
She will be missed for sure.
Julie and I have been friends for 50 years or so. We even almost shared a birthday. Hers was the second of July 1958 and mine is the 6th. I am so sorry to her family. May the peace of God surround them. Love you all.
It is with much sympathy that I extend to the Emmons family in this time of bereavement. May you remember and cherish each and every moment that you created and shared with your mother. And remember, earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. My prayers are with you.
