Roger G. Losch, 65, of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on October 5, 1961, in Louisville, Kentucky, Roger was the son of the late Herbert and Zelma (Hodge) Losch. From an early age, his life was rooted in his faith and his love for God. He pursued his biblical education through classes at Northwest Bible College and Lee University, preparing for a life devoted to serving the Lord and sharing His Word.
On January 26, 1979, Roger married the love of his life, Wanda Johns. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and unwavering devotion to one another. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to the life they shared, and Roger treasured every moment with his beloved wife. They especially enjoyed taking cruises together, traveling on road trips, and making their annual trips to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, creating memories they would cherish for a lifetime.
Roger faithfully served as a Church of God pastor for 40 years, dedicating his life to ministry and spreading the Word of God. He retired in 2023 from Living Word Worship Center in Pendleton, Indiana, but his calling to serve others never faded. He loved to preach, was a devoted man of prayer, and had a heart for reaching people wherever they were in life. His greatest desire was to lead others to God, encourage them in their faith, and help them grow in their relationship with the Lord.
Throughout his decades of ministry, Roger was not only a pastor but also a teacher, mentor, and spiritual leader. He had a gift for teaching the Word of God and was a cherished teacher to the many congregations he served. His compassion, wisdom, and dedication touched countless lives. He believed in serving others, putting their needs before his own, and showing God’s love through his actions. Roger lived what he preached, and his faith was evident in the way he loved, served, and cared for those around him.
Above all, Roger was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy. His family meant everything to him, and he would go to the ends of the earth for the people he loved. He was compassionate, selfless, and always willing to put others first. Whether he was sharing his faith, offering a prayer, teaching a lesson, or simply enjoying time with his loved ones, Roger made those around him feel cared for and important.
Roger also demonstrated incredible strength and perseverance throughout his life. For the last 20 years, he courageously battled sickness, facing each challenge with a strength that was an inspiration to those who knew and loved him. His journey was a testament to his enduring spirit and the faith that carried him through life’s most difficult seasons.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Wanda Losch; daughters, Bethany Thompson (Matt) and Brittany Mercer (Joe); sisters, Gerri Jackson and Phyllis Oller; grandchildren, Emery Thompson, Jaden Mercer, Jeroen Thompson (Aly), Evan Thompson (Belinda), and Lexi Daniels (Tanner); great-granddaughter, Paislee Daniels; along with several extended family members and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
