Kenneth Scott Shane

December 17, 1983 ~ October 14, 2026

Born in: Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in: Mooresville, Indiana

Kenneth Scott Shane, a man with a big heart, a quick wit, and a deep devotion to his family, passed away on October 14, 2026, at the age of 42. A resident of Mooresville and formerly of Indianapolis, Kenny brought a contagious, funny, and caring energy into the lives of everyone who knew him.

Born on December 17, 1983, to Marcia (Halterman) Shane and the late Randall D. Shane, he grew up with a natural athletic talent and a true love for the game of football. He was a standout player on the field at North Central High School, graduating in 2003 before taking his talents to Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona, where he earned his Associate’s Degree. Kenny’s football journey ultimately led him to Michigan State University, playing left guard wearing #71, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. He carried an immense sense of pride for his days as a Spartan, a chapter of his life that fueled a lifelong obsession with sports.

To say Kenny loved sports would be an understatement; his favorite hobbies were football, football, and more football, though he also eagerly followed baseball and loved the high-speed thrill of Formula 1 racing.  Kenny shared his hard work ethic and friendly nature with his community as the assistant manager at the NAPA Auto Parts on McCarty Street in Indianapolis.

While sports and hard work defined much of his time, Kenny’s boys were his absolute life. His deepest pride, greatest joy, and entire world belonged to his sons, Uriah Scott Shane and Isaiah Levi Shane. Kenny will be fiercely remembered for his unwavering commitment to his boys, always working hard and ensuring he was a good provider who put their needs above all else. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on through them.

Kenny leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, including his devoted mother, Marcia Shane; his beloved sons, Uriah and Isaiah; his brother, Gregory Shane; and his nephew, Connor Shane. He is now reunited with his father, Randall D. Shane, who preceded him in death. Kenny’s presence, his humor, and his massive heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who were blessed to cross his path.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.  Plans for a Celebration of Life are pending.  Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.
