Alleen Mikels
October 22, 1925 ~ December 26, 2014
Alleen Mikels, 89, Paragon, died December 26, 2014, in the Waters of Martinsville. Mrs. Mikels was born October 22, 1925, in Petersburg, Indiana, one of fourteen children, to the late Frank and Lula Ann (Frentress) Foster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Loren Mikels.
Mrs. Mikels attended school in Petersburg and lived for many years in Indianapolis and in Westfield, prior to residing in Paragon. She was employed at Western Electric for 15 years. A proud homemaker, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed all kinds of flowers. Above all, she had a strong faith and was strongly devoted to her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Cragun (Larry) of Paragon; brother, Luther Foster of Shoals; sisters, Dorothy Benge of Indianapolis, Annabelle Scheetz of Texas, Mary Small of Washington, Getty Daffron of Wheatland; grandchildren, Ray Cragun, Greg Cragun, and Rhonda Dubbeld; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call from 11 a.m., until service time. She was a great game player. We would play tick-tack-toe, dot to dot, Chinese checkers, and dominos she won most of the time but it was always enjoyable. I remember being so excited when I would learn different signs to communicate with her, and she was so patient trying to figure out what I was saying. She had the best love to offer to her family. I love her!
