Amelia L. Tharp

Amelia L. Tharp, 64 of Indianapolis, passed away August 12, 2016 in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 19, 1952 in Brazil, Indiana to the late Orange and Mary (Cox) Ferris.
Amelia enjoyed her career as a licensed cosmetologist for many years. She was a strong person who loved to travel, especially to the beach, and she loved lighthouses.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Amelia is survived by her two daughters, Janece (Glenn) Shepard of Plainfield, Michelle (Andrew) Clark of Indianapolis; her brother, Thomas Ferris; step-daughter, Christy Hilycord of Hope, Indiana; two sisters, Wilma McCubbins of Indianapolis and Janice Kortz of Greenwood; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild, Cali Whitlock.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Amelia Tharp from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.
