Anita J. Padgett

Anita J. Padgett, 84, of Danville, passed away on May 5, 2024. She was born in Newburgh, Indiana on April 8, 1940, and welcomed home to the late Oliver and Mildred (Barnett) Byers. Anita graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1958. She worked for Nyhart in Indianapolis for many years, and for Methodist Hospital as an accounts payable specialist.
Anita was a member of the Red Hat Society. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, crafting, sewing, and playing bingo and card games. Anita always loved having her hair and nails done. Most importantly, Anita’s favorite times were spent with her family. She was a loyal and caring mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Talbot, Frank Leslie, Mary Nickless, Nancy Yarborough, and Beverly Lautner.
Survivors include her sons, Rex Cass (wife, Terrie), Lex Cass (wife, Elana), Terry Cass; daughter, Lori Cass-Alexander; brother, Robert Henager; sisters, Ginger Byers-Owings, Margaret Mitchell; grandchildren, Michael Cass, Matt Cass, Adam Cass, Grace Cass, Sean Cass, Daniel Alexander ll (wife, Kayla), Samuel Alexander (wife, Maddie), Eli Alexander, Jacob Alexander; great-grandchildren, Sonnie, Nora, Evelyn, Hudson, Dylan, Marlie, Daniel lll, and one on the way.

Anita was a longtime friend since 1966. We shared many memories and good times together. I adopted her adopted her beloved dog, Izzy and she always looked forward to our visits at the nursing home. Definitely will miss my dear friend.
