Billie L. Howell

Billie L. Ward Howell, 81, Mooresville, passed away peacefully December 14, 2017, in The Gathering Together. Mrs. Howell was born February 17, 1936, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to the late Alfred William and Cassie Rebecca (Yeary) Ward.
She graduated from Mitchell High School and worked for 30 years at Miller’s Merry Manor in dietary and as a CNA and QMA, retiring in 2007. Billie was a hard working lady who loved people – always looking forward to company. She enjoyed playing euchre, was an avid reader, and could often be found snacking on her favorite Reese’s Cups. Above all, she was strongly devoted to her family.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dana Linkous.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia (Jim) Hicks of Camby, Deanna (Danny) Linkous of Indianapolis, Gaynell (Brad) Pierson, and Rebecca (Tim) Pullyard; brother, Wayne Ward of Bedford; sister, Helen Marie Howell of Campbellsburg; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Billie Howell from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2017. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017, in the funeral home. Pastor John Dunaway will officiate. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
