Bob Phelps

Bob “B.G.” Phelps, 87, of Mooresville, passed away May 5, 2017 at Worthington Place in Camby after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born July 11, 1929 in Diamond, Indiana Bob was the son of the late William and Leota (Cole) Phelps. On November 26, 1949 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Marjorie A. (Mills) Phelps and she survives.

Bob worked in skilled trades at General Motors for 41 years. A faithful servant of God, Bob was an active member and deacon at Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville. He enjoyed working on and restoring old vintage cars, salmon fishing, and traveling. His greatest pleasure was following God and setting that example for his family.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Marjorie; three daughters, Linda (Larry) Crews of Mooresville, Debra (Tom) Whitley of Mooresville, and Terri (Don) Bowman of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Tom (Lyn) Whitley Jr., Rob (Mindy) Whitley, Jeff (Emmily) Crews, Jason (Stacy) Crews, Dan Whitley, Alicia (Brian) Willis, and Logan Bowman; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of friends in Christ at Mt. Gilead Church.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Bob Phelps from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville. Jeff Faull, Terry Crist, and Tom Burgess will conduct the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the church. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Hollandsburg, Indiana at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Care and arrangements were entrusted to the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.   4. The Pemberton Family have wonderful memories of living in Indiana. Marj, Bob, Linda, Debbie and Terri Jo are a part of those memories. My mom and dad always talked about all the good times they spent with Bob and Marj and what dear dear friends they were. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
