November 6, 1965 ~ April 5, 2025
Born in:
Indianapolis, Indiana
Resided in:
Mooresville, Indiana
Bradley Joe “Brad” Justus, 59, longtime Mooresville resident, passed away April 5, 2025, as a result of a tragic water accident. Brad was born November 6, 1965, in Indianapolis, to Charles and Patsy Ann (Carmichael), who are both surviving and living in Mooresville.
Brad graduated from Mooresville High School in 1984, where he excelled on and off the football field as a team captain and class officer. Brad attended Indiana State University (ISU) 4 years for teaching before proudly serving in the United States Army stationed in Germany as a Pershing II Crew Member and later in the states as a chaplain’s assistant. Instead of pursuing a teaching career after his service, he chose to continue his education at ISU in graphic design, later beginning a successful career in design. In 1999, the same year that he married the love of his life, Joan, they founded their design firm, JarboMarketing. Brad’s work at Jarbo was always much more than a job. It was his vocation that provided him with the opportunity to minister to his employees and even clients. Brad was a well-respected professional in the marketing field.
Brad was a longtime volunteer and past president of the Mooresville Junior Football League. He also coached at Paul Hadley Middle School and Mooresville High School. He loved to coach and was a positive role model to his players and other coaches throughout the years. Brad was never ashamed of turning a coaching exercise into a ministry exercise and life lesson. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and led many people to the Lord during his lifetime. He and Joan have been membersof Mt. Gilead Church since 2002 and through their company,Jarbo, assisted the church with marketing and messaging for years. Brad was a leader for small groups and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Safety team.
Brad had an engaging personality, with his quick wit and piercing blue eyes. Brad will be remembered for his strength, dedication, compassion, wisdom, humor, service to others, his voice of reason, and his strong leadership abilities. When Brad decided to do something, he did it well—every time because he put in the work to do it well. When Brad loved someone—whether family member, friend, employee, or even client, he was not afraid to have difficult conversations when necessary. He was a true sheep dog and an effective and honest leader and servant. He and Joan loved to travel, especially seeing the world abroad. He was a passionate and gifted hunter. Brad’s memory will be forever cherished by a loving family and many friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Joan; children, Seth (Angela), Luke (Anna), Noah, and Grace Justus; parents, Charles and Patsy Ann Justus; sister, Terri (Mike) Berlier; grandchildren, Kinlee, Silas, Judah, and Ezra.
Brad’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 E. State Road 144, Mooresville. Thoughts and prayers are with the family
Brad will be remembered for his service, faithfulness and kindness. I pray that Jesus will support Joan and his family lending them strength in this time of need.
Joan, I didn’t know you that well if at all, I do remember seeing you and your husband at Mt Gilead, but we never really knew each other. However, our children went to school together and i have pictures that I believe you took of my daughter in 7th or 8th grade for a homecoming dance. I so appreciated the pictures and when I put two and two together today, I was so saddened to read of your husband’s passing. I did let my children know what happened and I hope that they will be able to come and share my condolences. I am out of town and unfortunately, will not be able to come to the funeral to support you. I am so sorry for your loss. And I cannot begin to imagine the pain that you are in. I will never forget those pictures that you took and how appreciative I was. Sometimes the simplest things mean so much to other people.
Please know that I am thinking about you. Sometimes, I think we are able to share the sorrow even if we don’t always share a friendship. I’ll be praying for you.

Joan and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I met Brad through Roger and could tell instantly why they were friends. He was a great man and obviously a great husband, father and grandfather. You are all in my prayers as you learn to live in this life without him. I’m so sorry I am unable to attend but I did make a donation in his memory to HVAF. God bless you all.
