Brenda Kay Widner, 72, of Camby, passed away at home on October 16, 2025. She was born in Indianapolis on June 13, 1953, to the late Carl and Anna (Smith) Johnson. Brenda graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1971. She married Ronald Widner on September 28, 1996, and together they shared 23 years of marriage before his passing in 2019.
Brenda was a jack of all trades, but cooking was her specialty. She owned several restaurants throughout the years and thoroughly enjoyed her ice cream trucks. She especially loved food and fellowship with her family.
Brenda’s testimony as a breast cancer survivor, coupled with her generous heart, led her on the path of caring for several friends and family during their end-of-life stages. She loved Jesus and was passionate about helping others.
In her free time, Brenda could always be found at garage sales or shopping. Most importantly, her family was her biggest blessing.
Survivors include her children, Amanda Brand (Chad), Ross Hopkins (Isabelle), Brandon Hopkins (Emily), and Taya Roseboom; grandchildren, Logan Begley (Cole), Tinsley Brand, Kenadi Brand, Zion Brand, Madison Hopkins, Levi Hopkins, Charlotte Hopkins, Liam Evamich, Thomas Evamich, Serenity Daye, and Pheonix Roseboom; brothers, Byron Johnson (Shari) and Robert Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Widner.
