Clyde R. Garrett
92, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 18, 2025, at Life’s Journey in Avon. Clyde was born on February 26, 1933 in Crawford, Tennessee to the late Abe and Etter (Cooper) Garrett.
Clyde proudly served in the U.S. Army during Korean War. Upon returning home, he worked as a delivery driver for Wayne Township Schools. He then worked as an engineer for Thomas L. Green & Company for 35 years, before retiring. An avid outdoorsman, Clyde loved being outside fishing, hunting pheasant and ginseng, playing golf, bowling, playing softball or watching sports on TV. He was a member of the Lynhurst Masonic Lodge and the American Legion Post #446 for many years. He will be remembered for his love of his family, his work ethic, and his competitiveness.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christine (Phillips) Garrett, great grandson Jesse Garrett, brothers Clifford Garrett, RD Garrett, sisters Lucille Key, Reba Wynn and a half-brother Bobby Cooper.
He is survived by sons Mick (Jenni) Garrett, Rick (Ann) Garrett; brother Ernest Garrett; grandchildren, Chris (Megan) Garrett, Kathy (Philip) Whitaker, Codie (Greg) Guffin, Larissa Keith, Marjean (Jay R) Divinagracia; ten great grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters, and longtime friend and caregiver Betty Smith.
Family and friends will gather in celebration of Clyde’s life on Monday, June 23rd from 12pm- 2pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services with military honors at Floral Park Cemetery.
