Danny R. Thomas
64, of Mooresville, passed away on March 25, 2026, at Life’s Journey in Avon. Danny was born on January 12, 1962 in Putnam County, Indiana to the late Melvin Thomas and Doris (Anderson) Sweet.

In his younger years, Danny moved to Florida and worked hard to earn his way to work on shrimp boats and crab boats, eventually becoming Captain of a few boats. Talented with working with his hands, Danny built two homes and could fix anything. He learned to be a plumber, owning Danny Thomas Plumbing for about 20 years, before working as a union plumber for Local #440. He loved being outdoors, hunting, deep-sea fishing, and mushroom hunting. He was grateful for everything he had and loved sharing his love of the outdoors with his grandkids taking them hunting, fishing or simply playing a game of hide and seek. He will be remembered as a tough, hardworking man, who was determined to succeed, who preferred the simple things in live and loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Jines) Thomas; daughters Erika Lewis (Bob), Andrea Thomas (Derek Milhon), Danielle Thomas; siblings Rick, Bob, Kenny, Melvin, Greg, Lori, Nancy, as well as his grandchildren Dakota, Marissa, Haylee, Adriana, Kassidy, Eve and Rayelle, who will all miss him dearly.

Family and friends will gather in celebration of Danny’s life on Thursday, April 2nd from 3-6pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with memorial services beginning at 6:00pm Thursday in the funeral home.
