Delores Kay Johns
August 12, 1934 ~ December 4, 2016
Delores Kay Johns, 82, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully December 4, 2016, in Meadow Lakes. Mrs. Johns was born August 12, 1934, in Indianapolis, to the late William Lloyd and Crystal (Swisher) Mendenhall.
She was a proud homemaker and also worked for a period of time in the juvenile court system and at the Girls’ School. Mrs. Johns was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene. She also enjoyed crafts, especially during her time spent as a resident at Meadow Lakes. Delores will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Clyde Richard Johns; one brother, Robert Mendenhall; granddaughter, Heather Scott.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Scott of Indianapolis and Larry Scott (Connie) of Mooresville; daughter, Melody Lampher (Chuck) of Avon; brother, Donald Mendenhall; four grandchildren, Brandi, Amber, and Ashley; three great grandchildren, Luke, Camdyn, and Nolan.
Friends and family will gather on Friday, December 9, 2016, 5 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at
Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Rev. Dennis Payton will officiate the service at 8 p.m. A committal service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, 9:30 a.m., in West Newton Cemetery.
