I didn’t personally know Earl, but I know most of the Riggen family. Earl’s father,Elmo, drove the school bus that took my children to school every morning for years. His mother, Louise, waited on my family at the grocery store. There wasn’t a nicer family anywhere than the Riggens. They were all hard working Christian people. My condolences to Earl’s family.

I am so very sad to hear of Earl’s passing. I knew him as a doting grandfather to his grandchildren Nick, Courtney and Conner. I first met Earl and Jeannette at Waverly School when they attended programs for Nick who was in my first grade class. Then a few years later Courtney and Conner were in my first grade class. I think they attended every program and event at the school if their grandchildren were involved. Earl was always kind and friendly and so proud of his grandchildren. Even years later when his grandchildren were older, he would be found supporting the kids at sport or school event. He always had a kind word or friendly “hello” whenever I saw him. I know he was much loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Sending prayers of comfort to Jeannette, Lisa, Chris, Nick Courtney and Connor. ߒ

Workrd with Earl many years on the old B&ORR at Moorefield Yards as Telegraphers & Train Order Operators, we were both from Dana, Ind., and shared many laughs, plus exciting times! We stayed in contact even when he departed to GM! A thoughtful good and just man, now he will have seniority again over me in Heaven. Until that day Earl, Until that Day!
I celebrate you as my friend!

Sorry something went wrong with the commenting.
My sincere sympathy to Earl’s wife and family. I was very sorry to hear of Earl’s passing. Earl and I grew up in Dana, Indiana. We lived a street apart and were in the same class in school, graduating in 1952 from Dana High School. Earl was a good kid, fun loving and had many friends. He also was a very good basketball player for the Dana Aggies. I’m sure Earl will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
