Edna M. Clymer

94, of Camby, passed away on March 26, 2023 peacefully at home. Edna was born on October 13, 1928 in Vandalia, Illinois to the late Lester L. and Helen L. Clymer.

Edna worked for Indiana Bell, starting out in Rockford, IL and later moving to Indiana where she retired after 35 years of service. Edna will be remembered as a strong, independent, often outspoken lady who had a big heart in helping others. She was known around her neighborhood as the “Queen of Goodwill” always seeking deals and always putting the needs of her friends and family ahead of her own making sure they had clothing, food, keepsakes, even screws and bolts if that was what they needed, she made sure they had it.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews as well as her adopted family; Kevin, Susan, Cody Massey, Gabby Welch, Jenna Wilde, Dan, Lori Tatman, Linda Stevens, good friend Herb as well as her beloved dog Rusty.

According to Edna’s wishes she will be cremated with no formal services being held. She will be buried next to her parents in Illinois.

  2. Edna was a very gentle soul, always had a smile for everyone and we loved to have her around. Grandma will be missed by everyone who knew her.

  3. Edna’s nieces and nephews include Herb Roe, Gene and Jenny Clymer, Alma Clymer, Wayne and Mary Clymer and Kathy Clymer Petrone. Vicki Lea Clymer Roe and Thomas Lester Clymer proceeded her in death.

    Edna’s great nieces and nephews include Chris Roe Woodard, Kenny Roe, Angie Elliott, Shawn Clymer, Lester Clymer, Jessica Clymer, Tommy Clymer, Anthony Clymer, Laura Beth Huber and Julia Alice Elaine Petrone. Edna also had 11 great-great nieces and nephews.
