Edwin Smith Wilder

Edwin Smith Wilder, 85, of Martinsville, left this earthly life in the comfort of his home on Saturday, December 27, 2025.  He was born in Harlan, Kentucky to the late John Henry Wilder and Louanna R. (Ellis) Wilder on October 15, 1940.

He worked for over 30 years for International Harvester / Navistar retiring in 1995 as a General Foreman.  He was an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was especially proud of his award winning, grand champion Mountain Cur hunting dogs that were featured in magazines.  Above all, he was family oriented, adored his family, and relished time spent with them.  He was his happiest when they were around.

On December 20, 1961, he married the love of his life, Sandra Farmer.  She preceded him in passing on July 16, 2012.

He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Kelly (husband, Troy) Leibrandt of Indianapolis and Lisa Bennett of Martinsville; brother, Michael (wife, Nancy) Wilder; grandchildren, Bri Leibrandt, Katie O’Neal, Kyle Bennett, and Carson Bennett; great grandchildren, Kenadie Schultz, Harper Schultz, Blane O’Neal, Sydney O’Neal, Kensley O’Neal, and Kendall Bennett; and great great grandchild, Amelia Buskirk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louanna Wilder; wife, Sandra Wilder; daughter, Paige Leasor; and brother, Merle Wilder.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 2^nd from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.  Edwin’s Life Celebration® Service will follow beginning at 1:30 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Martinsville.
