May 19, 1925 ~ December 25, 2015
Elizabeth J. “Betty” Bothwell, 90, Mooresville, died peacefully December 25, 2015, in St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. Mrs. Bothwell was born May 19, 1925, in Indianapolis, to the late Theodore and Frieda (Bohnenkamp) Schuller.
A graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Indianapolis, Mrs. Bothwell worked for many years as an executive secretary, retiring from the United States Postal Service. They donated more than 1,500 of these to the residents of many local nursing homes, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Grover Walden; her second husband, Maurice Bothwell; a son, Mark Walden; and a sister, Martha Yamarick.
Survivors include her children, Christopher Walden (Jane) of Indianapolis, Martha Walden (Elaine Weinreb) of California, Rebecca Widmer (John) of Mooresville, Blaise Walden of Indianapolis, and Matthew Walden of Indianapolis; sister, Mary Grayson of Mooresville; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Betty will be missed. She was full of energy and life and was kind in all endeavors. RHI will miss her and the many she helped here with her sewing skills! I am so sorry Becky. Debbie Cox
God bless this wonderful woman. Grandma Grayson’s sister and our aunt. She is now with Him.
I will miss all the conversations we had, the wonderful independent neighbor that wanted to get her own paper and take her trash can in herself. The kind, caring and loving woman that did so much for me and others…Betty I will miss you.
My wonderful neighbor; my wonderful friend…how I will miss you. I always said that when when I grow up I wanted to be just like Betty. Guess I have 20 years to figure that out. When summer comes, I’ll certainly miss the sultry adventures of Sylvester and Simone. I don’t know what my Simone will do without her Sylvester.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this wonderful woman who let me call her ‘Mom’. She will always be with me in my heart and in my soul. Thank you Muther for all you gave to me!!
I will miss Betty at Women’s Club at St. Thomas More. I enjoyed her company, her sweetness, and gentle spirit. We shared a common love of sewing and I loved hearing about her walker pocket project.
Betty was my dear friend, mentor, stabilizer, supporter all rolled into one. I never met anyone so unselfish. She cared for everyone else and never felt sorry for herself even when she was not feeling well. I could go to her with any concern and she would suggest remedies and of coarse the consequences that accompanied the remedy. What a ‘lady’ and how I respected her and how she loved her children and her sister. I can’t imagine life without her. Karen Hartigan
