Ernie and I shared meny evenings together when he lived at Pioneer Trails Scout Camp during the 60’s. Many stories, many dreams. As a Kunieh member he danced, traded, and created crafts. As a friend he shared his life events. As a dad, he involved his sons in the native american culture. I’ll miss Ernie.
Ernie and I and many other friends, Dennis Hammer, Lynn Hood, David Link, Terry Foreman, the Foreman twin girls, …we all had a great time participating in the Indian Dancing and Lore directed and watched over by the finest adults. I’ll never forget Ernie on his Royal Enfield motorcycle…! It was the biggest and finest machine I had ever seen. I send the best to Ernie’s family and friends..!! Nelson Nave, Kalamazoo MI
Ernie and I go back to the mid 60’s and our days together in Kunieh. I had not seen a lot of Ernie these past few years but did always try to visit with him at Tipton each year. Ernie and I had another old friend in common that in some ways bound us together, for good and/or for bad. I always thought fondly of Ernie as the ‘Eddie Haskell’ of our Kunieh family. He was always very polite and attentive, but with a bit of mischievousness thrown in for good measure. He always kept thing interesting. My best to you Ernie and tell Terry we will all dance together again one day.
Phil and I were saddened to learn of Ernie’s death. We had know him many years as a fellow powwow vendor and friend. We will remember him for his wit and kindness; he never met a stranger. Our prayers of sympathy for you, his family, and to the Creator for Ernie are heart felt. Phil and Lynn Jones, Wolf Clan Traders
I was sorry to read about the passing of Ernest. So I wanted to take this time to express my condolence to you for the loss of your loved one. I wanted to share a thought with you that comforted me when I lost a family member in death. The man Job in ( Job 14:14) asks’ If an able-bodied man dies can he live again?’. Happily Jesus answers in ( John 5:28,29)-Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life” Imagine a resurrection back to life and right here on earth.–( Ps.37:29)-“The righteous themselves will posses the earth. And they will reside forever upon it”. I hope that you will be able to draw some comfort from these scriptural thoughts as I did.
Our Very Deepest and most Heart Felt Symphony to you and your Son ,May God Bless you and Keep you close and be a comfort to you
