I knew Eugene since we were kids back in the 50’s an 60’s I love his Father and Mother like they were my own. Lost track of him after his parents past, But I have never forgot the good times we had together back then. I am so sorry for your lost – heaven is the place for a good man like him. My Prayers are with all the family. So sorry. Ed Forrest, living so close and did not even know it. Plainfield. God Bless the Lord for letting me know him.
So glad he moved closer to my family. I called him Uncle gene even if he was technically my great uncle. Our family always enjoyed his presence especially these past few years when we he and my aunt Elva came to many of our family gatherings and holidays. He was a kind spirited man, and always had stories to tell.
Dear Elva and Family, Larry and I were so sorry to learn Gene had passed away. I always enjoyed him being at the church handing out bulletins. He always seemed to be such a happy man. I am so glad he got to spend some time with the 2 grandsons before his heart attack. They will never forget that special time together. God Bless You All, Larry and Brenda Wyatt
Uncle Gene would do anything for you. Just recently he helped me with a tree for Bible school and gave me a laminator…which as a teacher is a prized position. One of the last things I said to him was I’ll love you forever and I will. You will be missed but I know you are with the Lord. What a great example you were of how to live as a man of God. Love always…Anne
I am so sorry to hear about Gene’s passing! Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers!
Was just thinking about the VanHook’s when going through our picture album. We were in Park County at the covered bridge and there was a pic of Gene, Elva and Angie; who is our oldest daughter. One thing remembered was the BIG snow storm in Brownsburg. It was too bad for several to get home from Sunday evening church and Gene and Elva put a lot of people up for the night. We had many fun times. He was a faithful Christian. Of course, through the years we lost touch but always had fond memories of Gene and Elva. Our prayers go out to the family. Blessings and Grace, Don and Sharon Rawley
Dear Elva, I just saw the notice of Gene’s death on facebook, posted by Sharon Rawley. We are sorry to hear of his passing and pray that God’s strength and promises will sustain you in the coming days just as they have since the times you and Gene trusted Christ as your personal Savior and as, together, you honored Him in your home. Wonderful memories of the times at Bethesda when we saw God work in remarkable and miraculous ways! Now Gene is seeing his Savior face to face! In Christ, Larry and Sue Czerniak
