Gerald “Jerry” Doyle, 80, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 4, 2025 at Majestic Care of Avon. He was born to the late Bernard Doyle, Sr. and Anna (Clossey) in Indianapolis on May 26, 1945 and was a life-long resident of the area. He married Kathleen Marini in 1972.

A 1963 graduate of Cathedral HS & 1972 graduate of St. Meinrad College, he was the Shows & Exhibit Manager at Allison Gas Turbine, then a Bishop Chatard HS teacher.

Devoted to his faith, family, and community; he lived a life of giving as a Navy veteran, volunteer fireman, lector, catechist, coach, PTO president, apheresis donor and a life in service to parish councils, St. Meinrad Alumni Board, Little League Football Board, Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts, and various Booster Clubs. He loved nature in the great outdoors, fishing, golfing, sketching, short-order cooking, and planning and running events. Jerry was quick to tell a joke and never knew a stranger.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Kathleen; son, Brian (Donna) Doyle; daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Colasessano; son, Kevin (Jennifer) Doyle; son, Michael (Stephanie) Doyle; brother, John (Marilyn) Doyle; and 14 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard Doyle, Jr. and Joseph Doyle.

Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 5pm-8pm at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 39 E. High St., Mooresville, IN. Memorial and rosary at 7:30pm. Saturday, July 12, visitation at 10:30am-11:30am at Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Rd., Greenwood, IN. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30am. Military honors will immediately follow Mass. Friends and family are invited to stay for luncheon at the church.

Inurnment will be held on Monday, July 14, at 10:00 am at the Resurrection Garden Columbarium on the church grounds. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jerry may be made to Cathedral Soup Kitchen at 1347 N. Meridian, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
