Gertrude Bishop

April 25, 1943 ~ January 4, 2022
Gertrude “Trudie” Bishop, 78, Mooresville, passed away January 4, 2022, at The Springs, where she had resided in assisted living for the past three years. Trudie was born April 25, 1943, in Columbia, Kentucky, to the late Bodie and Theria Burton. She was widowed to Conley Bishop.

While she enjoyed shopping and spending time at the Greenwood Park Mall, her greatest pastime involved her grandchildren. She loved to spoil them with ice cream and homemade chicken & noodles. Family was tops for Trudie – she always looked forward to family gatherings, not only with her children, but loved to stay connected with her extended family also. She will be fondly remembered for her loving and caring nature and her strong-willed personality.
In addition to her parents and Conley, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheila Swinney and Kellie Harris; grandson, Devin Deaton; brothers, Austin and Houston Burton; sister, Faye Smiley.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa (Mike) Reese and Ronie (Dannie) Davis; brothers, Harold and Bobby Burton; sister, Sue Walters; grandchildren, Stephanie (Danny) Scott, Danielle (Morgan) McCreery, Trey (Ellen), Trenton, Trevin, Treiton, Treagan Davis; great grandchildren, Jaden, Patrick, Autumn, and Wrenley.
