Harold L. Elgan, 90, of Mooresville, received his wings on November 15, 2025, at Meadow Lakes nursing home. Born in Bicknell, Indiana on February 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Earl and Helen (Ashby) Elgan. Harold graduated from Bicknell High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Harold worked as a printer for the Indianapolis Star for 40 years before retiring in 1997. He worked part-time parking cars for Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel until 2004.
He was a longtime member of Brooklyn Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Harold married Beverly Scott on November 3, 1962. Together, they fostered a total of 24 children over the course of 11 years.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Beverly Elgan; son, Vance Elgan; daughter, Vicki Page; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Judy Taylor; and niece, Caryle Elgan Collins.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Elgan; and brothers, Robert and Billy Elgan.
Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.

You were the best to all of us grandkids and more. I will never forget about me asking you if I could walk up your legs, you flip me over, over and over again until you were worn out. All the Easter egg hunts, Christmas gatherings, Birthdays and Thanksgivings we all had together. I will cherish every memory I have of you for the rest of my life. You were so strong minded, kind and very loving to us all. I will think about you everyday.
I know you’re not in pain, you’re home now but your love will never fade and never end. I’m blessed to have had you as my papaw and all the wonderful childhood memories you gave to us.
