Harold R. Secrest
89, of Mooresville, passed away on October 5, 2021 at St Francis Hospital in Mooresville. Harold was born on July 15, 1932 in Owen County Indiana to the late Olive (Norris) and Alfred Secrest.

Harold proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home from service, he embarked on a career as an engineer for Carrier Corporation for 45 years, before retiring.

Harold enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, gardening, restoring old cars and going to car shows. He was also an avid Colts fan and enjoyed having season tickets for many years. Harold was a long-time member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, where he was known as Mr. Fix It, as he donated his mechanical skills to help repair things around the church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #103 in Mooresville. However, it was his family, especially his grandchildren that brought him joy in his life.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son Harold “Sonny” Secrest.

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Moore) Secrest; daughters Kathy Strickler, Beth Straley; sisters Catherine Woempner, Dorothy Abel and his beloved grandchildren Emma Secrest and Trevor Strickler.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Harold’s life on Saturday, Oct. 16th from 10:30am- 12:00pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with memorial services beginning at 12pm Saturday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s memory to the Bethany Lutheran Church, 4702 S East St, Indianapolis, IN 46227.

  4. Harold was good freind we met him and Margaret at a car show with the thunderbird club . Harold was always ready and willing to help anytime we had questions about his cars. He also hosted a Halloween cookout at his home . We always loved speeding time with Harold and Margaret
