Helen Darlene Skinner

Helen Darlene Skinner, 83, of Joppa (Mooresville), passed peacefully in her sleep at her daughter’s home on Monday, June 17, 2024. Helen was born in Mooresville on February 16, 1941 to the late Henry Edward Sheets and Myrtle Evelyn (Adams) Sheets.
A lifelong Mooresville resident, she graduated from Plainfield High School with the class of 1959. On October 28, 1978, Helen married the love of her life, Earl Skinner. Earl preceded her in passing on December 23, 2012. She found great joy in caring for her home and family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening. A NASCAR fan, she and Earl made yearly trips to Daytona for the 500 for many years.
She will be missed and forever remembered by her host of loving family including her daughter, Debbie (husband, Don) Schanz of Plainfield; brother, Raymond (wife, Carol) Sheets of Joppa (Mooresville); sister, Jean (husband, Steve) Borer of Joppa (Mooresville); grandchildren, Lucas VanZandt of Carmel, Dwayne (wife, Kasey) Schanz, and Endia Beard of Mooresville; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Evelyn; husband, Earl Skinner; and son, Keith Robertson.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service at White Lick Cemetery on Friday, June 21st beginning at 11:00 am. Following the service, she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband and son.

So sorry for your loss. Helen and i worked together at the cleaners. We all had some times bowling together and going to Michigan to the Nascar races. Lots of good memories. Helen you will be missed.
