Howard W. Cassidy 89, of Plainfield, formerly of Mooresville, passed away on June 15, 2020 at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. Howard was born May 26, 1931 in Montgomery County, Kentucky to the late Fred and Bethel (McCarthy) Cassidy.
Howard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After service, he applied the engineering skills he learned in service with a 39 year career with the Civil Corps of Engineers, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mooresville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Cassidy.
He is survived by his sons Tim Cassidy, Brian Cassidy; brother Ewell Cassidy; sister Freida Cassidy and 2 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, June 20th from 12-2pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services beginning Saturday at 2pm in the funeral home. According to his wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest alongside his wife Jane in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
