James Edward O’Connor, age 44, of Mooresville died May 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born on February 17, 1970 in Indianapolis.

James was a major music enthusiast who played the guitar and drums. He played in several bands and was well known in the musical community. He was gifted at repairing electronics and enjoyed riding his dirt bike. He loved children, he had a large heart and was generous to those close to him. He will be greatly missed by many who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Dorothy O’Connor of Mooresville; his four siblings, Tom O’Connor ( Andrea) of Waverly, Cindy Bond ( Jason) of Mooresville, Andy O’ Connor ( Megan) of Carmel, and Paula Lecher ( Alvin) of Elizabethtown; his Godparents, Danny and Louis O’Connor of Greenfield; his Godson, Zac Sherron of Katy, Texas; his two uncles, Don Wade of Odon and James Wade (Ruth Ann) of Bloomington; his two aunts, Helen Wade of Odon, and Agnes Wade of Washington. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and many close friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville on Thursday at 12:30 P.M. with Father Mark Gottemoeller as celebrant. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the start of mass at church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.

  5. I am still a little shock this has happened. He was one of my rele close friends and hes def going to be missed severely in my life as i kno also in so many others!! He was an amazing person. He always was able to put a smile on my frowning face no matter wht the circumstances was. I never had to doubt Jim if i needed his help he was always there to help! I wish i knew wht he was going threw so i cld have returned the favor amd helped him…much love to you Jim u will b missed dearly!!

  7. Some students are never forgotten because of what they did wrong, while others are always remembered for doing things right. Jim got it right! When I think of Jim, I will always remember a student who followed the rules, respected others, gave more than he took, and met every challenge with his personal best. It was my pleasure to be his elementary school principal and I’m saddened by his passing.

  9. I still can’t believe this happened. Jim played a huge role In my life. He help raise me and I’m so thankful for everything he did for me. He was a great person and helped many people he was always happy and caring. I’m so happy that I had the pleasure of having I’m in my life may you rest in peace Jim.   10. I did not know Jim well, but he sounded like a great guy. I am so sorry for the family’s loss & they are ALL in my thoughts and prayers. We just recently lost my daughter’s father in January at the age of 46 & I know it is not easy. So many unanswered questions. He is in a better place now though.   12. Jimmy was one of my best friends when we were younger. There’s not a birthday photo from 2nd to 8th grade he’s probably not in. Then you drift apart later in life, and I didn’t get to know the man. I’m sorry for your loss. I wish I would have stayed in touch. Brad Dixon – May 23, 2014
