Jan Averette
October 28, 1957 ~ September 24, 2015
Janice Lynn Averette, 57, Plainfield, passed away September 24, 2015. Jan was born October 28, 1957, in Indianapolis, to the late James Ward and Vera Ellen (Holloway) Averette.
She grew up and attended school in Monrovia and for a period of time in Alabama. She enjoyed being outdoors camping and especially being around water. She had a special friendship with her dog, Mica, who died a few years ago. Above all, Jan was a loving sister and aunt who will be missed by a loving family and many lifelong friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Donald Averette and one nephew, Bobby Stevens.
Survivors include two sisters, Barbara Stoots of Plainfield and Rita Stevens of Mooresville; niece, Angela Stevens; nephews, Barry, Larry, and Jimmy Stoots.

I was so sorry to hear of Jan’s passing. She was truly a free spirit and adventurist. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, and keeping Barbara especially dear in this time of loss.
